Pediatric Eye Exams
A comprehensive evaluation of your child’s eye health and visual system helps ensure strong, lasting vision by identifying and addressing any concerns early—supporting healthy development every step of the way.
We provide gentle, comprehensive eye exams for children ages 4 and up, focusing on early detection of vision issues and overall eye health. Our goal is to ensure your child feels at ease while receiving expert, personalized care in a warm and welcoming environment. Upon starting school, your child’s eyes should be screened for visual acuity and alignment. In this age group, nearsightedness (myopia) is the most common refractive error and can be corrected with eyeglasses.
Children often give subtle clues when they’re having trouble seeing clearly. They might squint, hold books or screens very close, or mention that things look blurry. Other signs can be less obvious—like a short attention span during visual tasks, frequently losing their place while reading, or avoiding activities like drawing, puzzles, or reading altogether. Some children may even tilt their head when looking at something, which can be a natural way of compensating for a vision issue like astigmatism. That’s why regular eye exams with an optometrist are so valuable. Detecting and addressing vision problems early helps set your child up for success—both in the classroom and in everyday life.
